A U.U. Air Force dorne, controlled by artificial intelligence, decided during a simulated test in the United ststes to kill the operator to intervene in its efforts to complete its mission, the Guardian reports.

Tucker Hamilton, head of operations and artificial inntelligence testing at the US air Force, said: "The system began to realise that although it identified threats, the operator did not order him to destroy some of these threats, and the system was getting points for the target injury, so the system decided to kill the operator because it prevented him from complating the task," according to the Guardian.
The US Force's head of artificial intelligence operations said AI used "highly unexpected strategies to achieve its goal" in a simulated test.
Hamilton described a simulation experiment in which she advised an AI drone to destroy the enemy's air defense system, and attacked anyone who intervenes.
The US Army test report read: "We trained the system.. Hello. Don't kill the threat. That sucks. and if you do, you lose points. The AI program began destroying the telecommunications rower used by the operator to communicate with the drone to prevent it from killing the target.
Hamilton, wn experimental fighter pilot, warned against excessive reliance on artificial intelligence.
